Slide the new one up and in, making sure the drive shaft goes into the powerhead and it seats against the lower part of the housing, put the bolts back in. Took it to the lake and it ran fine.

Dec 31, 2012 Generally, when the drive shaft breaks, it doesn't do any damage to the trans or rear end. The drive shaft is, by design, the weakest link in the drive train for that reason. I don't know of anybody who got in trouble for breaking one drive shaft, including me. Just learn from what happened, and be more careful in the future.
